### Lesson Sequence
1. **Introduction (5 minutes)**
- Greet the students and briefly discuss what transportation means.
- Introduce the concept of water transportation by asking, "Have you ever seen a boat or a ship?" and showing pictures of different water transport vehicles.
2. **Story Time (10 minutes)**
- Read a storybook that involves a journey on a boat or ship.
- Ask comprehension questions related to the story to gauge understanding and keep the students engaged.
- For example, "Where did the boat go?" and "What can we see when we ride on a boat?"
3. **Discussion and Exploration (10 minutes)**
- Show the students pictures of boats, ships, submarines, and other water vehicles.
- Explain each type of vehicle in simple terms, e.g., "A boat is a small vehicle that moves in water," "A ship is a big boat that carries many people or goods."
- Discuss the uses of water transport, such as moving people and goods from one place to another.
- Allow students to touch and explore toy models of the vehicles.
4. **Interactive Activity (10 minutes)**
- Set up a small "waterway" using a large basin or container filled with water.
- Demonstrate how small floating toys that represent boats and ships can move in the water.
- Let each student take a turn moving the toy boats around the basin. Emphasize safety and care with water.
5. **Art and Craft (5 minutes)**
- Provide students with a simple coloring sheet featuring water transport vehicles.
- Guide the students to color the pictures.
- Optional: Assist students in making a paper boat using folding paper.
6. **Conclusion and Recap (5 minutes)**
- Recap the lesson by pointing to the pictures and asking students to name each water vehicle.
- Ask a few review questions, such as "What is a boat?" and "What can a ship carry?"
- Praise students for their participation and good behavior during the class.
### Assessment
- Observe and note students' ability to identify and name different water transport vehicles.
- Listen to responses during the interactive activity and discussion.
- Check completed coloring sheets for engagement.
### Follow-Up/Homework
- Suggest that students draw a picture of their favorite water transport vehicle at home and bring it to the next class to share with everyone.
- Encourage parents to take students to visit a local waterway to see real boats and ships if possible.
### Teacher’s Reflection
- Assess the success of the lesson based on student engagement and understanding.
- Reflect on what worked well and what could be improved for future lessons. Adjust the lesson plan accordingly for different learning needs and preferences.
